Interest Rate of Credit under the Scheme

The rate of interest on GECL will be limited as follows:
• For banks and financial institutions, the lending rate is linked to one of the external benchmark rates
+1% per annum as prescribed by RBI subject to a maximum of 9.25%.
• For NBFCs, the interest rate on GECL shall not exceed 14% p.a.

For customers, no additional processing fee will be charged by the MLI from the borrowers.
• No penal interest on account of any non-compliance with pre-approved contracts
Existing credit facilities may be charged on additional loans during
approval time.

Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) expanded

ECLGS 4.0: 100% guarantee cover for loans up to Rs.2 crore to hospitals/nursing homes/clinics/medical colleges for setting up on-site oxygen generation plants, with interest rate limited to 7.5%;

(ii) Borrowers who are eligible for restructuring as per RBI guidelines dated May 05, 2021, and had taken a loan under ECLGS 1.0 with a total tenure of four years, with repayment of interest only during the first 12 months, and 36 Months involved the payment of interest. After that, they will now be able to avail of a tenure of five years for their ECLGS loan i.e. interest repayment only for the first 24 months and principal and interest repayment for 36 months thereafter;

(iii) additional ECLGS assistance up to 10% of the outstanding as of February 29, 2020, to borrowers covered under ECLGS 1.0, with restructuring as per RBI guidelines dated May 05, 2021;

(iv) The present ceiling of Rs. 500 crores outstanding loan to be removed for eligibility under ECLGS 3.0, provided the maximum additional ECLGS assistance to each borrower is limited to 40% or Rs 200 crores, whichever is lower;

(v) Civil Aviation Sector will be eligible under ECLGS 3.0

(vi) The validity of ECLGS has been extended till 30.09.2021 or till the issue of a guarantee of Rs.3 lakh crore. Distribution is allowed till 31.12.2021 under the scheme.
