• A six percent increase has been announced for Gautrain trips, though there will still be discounts for weekly and monthly passes.
• Beginning June, travelers will have to pay a bit more to use the Gautrain. Rapid Rail Link has announced a six per cent hike in fares from June 1.
• Gautrain bus fares remain unchangedGautrain bus fares remain unchanged GawTrain airport services and parking fees are also increasing, but bus fares will remain unchanged.

• Gautrain announced the fare hike on its website on May 14. Monthly ticket holders will get a 20 percent discount and weekly ticket holders will get a 10 percent discount, which means that the monthly R674 to Pretoria route from Hatfield to Pretoria will be R716.
• Parking charges will also increase from R10 to R12 for one hour, from R80 to R85 for 24 hours.
• Timings of all trains will remain unchanged. Some four-car train sets have been replaced by eight cars. The eight-car train sets will leave Hatfield at 6.26 a.m., 8.02 a.m. and 3.04 p.m., 4.40 p.m., 6.16 p.m., and 7.56 p.m. to each station.
• Gautrain says, “Gautrain fares should be less than the cost of using a private car for the same journey, but more expensive than existing taxi and rail fares.”
