The Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is an independent regulatory agency established by the Constitution of Kenya in 2011. The Commission is responsible for conducting or supervising referendums and elections to any elective body or office established by the Constitution and any other election as prescribed by an Act of Parliament.

The interview and shortlisting of successful candidates for Presiding Officers, Deputy Presiding Officers, Polling Clerks, Counting Clerks and other Clerks is expected to be completed by May 27, 2022. The recruitment process will be led by the IEBC Director of Human Resources and Administration. The shortlisting of successful candidates will start with Presiding and Deputy Presiding Officers and then proceed to Polling Clerks or Counting Clerks and other Clerks. Two weeks after the recruitment, a list of successful candidates will be given to political parties and election stakeholders so that they can raise any concerns.

IEBC 2021 RECRUITMENT.

VACANT POSITIONS

The personnel are divided into two categories, namely;

• Constituency ICT Clerks (580)
• Clerks (7,540)

REQUIREMENTS

The following are the requirements for various positions.

(I) CLERKS

• Must be a Kenyan Voter of good conduct and responsible citizen.
• At least form four levels of education with a minimum of C- or equivalent
• Must have legible, neat handwriting
• Must be residents of the sub-locations, preferably the polling station they vote in or a nearby one.
• Aged between 18 and 50 years old
• Must have a national identity card
• Fluent in the main local language/dialect.

(II) SUPERVISORS/ICT CLERKS.

• Must have a National Identity Card between the age of 25 years to 50 years
• Fluent in main local language/dialect
• Must have good communication and training skills
• Public relations should be good.
• Must be mature and responsible citizens, preferably teachers, government officials, or university graduates with management experience. Any previous work experience with IEBC will be an added advantage.
• Must be residents of the places where they want to work.
