Dear Readers, today we are going to provide you the NMMS Question Paper 2019 PDF | National Merit Scholarship PDF to help you for the preparation of exam. National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship(NMMS)  is a Centrally subsidized scholarship scheme. It is executed by the Department of School Education & Literacy under the Ministry of Human Resource Development with the purpose to economically encourage the meritorious students of economically weaker sections of the society. NMMS nurtures disadvantaged students to carry on their studies at the secondary level by extending a scholarship amount of INR 12,000 per annum. Each year, this MCM scholarship is activated during the month of November and almost 100,000 scholarships are distributed among brilliant students.

There will be two patterns in NMMS examination named SAT & MAT. Here the total number of questions will be 180. It is very important to practice the old sample papers and previous papers to get an idea about the actual exam. This MCM scholarship scheme is applicable only for the meritorious and needy students of India and the applicant must have to fulfil the eligibility conditions for getting the scholarship benefits.

NMMS Scholarship – Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicants who want to get benefits of this MCM must be regular students of class 9 after getting straight promotion from class 8 with a score of at least 55% or equivalent.
  • The applicants must be practicing education from Government/Local Body/Government-aided schools.
  • For continuance of scholarship in higher secondary school, the applicant must score at least 60% marks in class 10 board exam.
  • For getting the regular benefits of scholarship in class 12, the scholarship awardee must get straight promotion from class 11 in the first attempt with a score of 55% marks or equivalent. For SC/ST students, a relaxation of 5% is given in marks.
  • The applicants’ annual family income should be less than INR 1.5 Lakh.
  • The students who are already enrolled in NVS, KVS, Sainik schools and private schools are not qualified for this MCM scholarship.

NMMS Scholarship – Selection Criteria

NMMS is a Central Government scholarship scheme, its selection test is organised by each State/UT for their respective students. These tests consists a mental ability test and a scholastic aptitude test and its guidelines are set by the NCERT. The applicants need to complete each test in a maximum time duration of 90 minutes. The children with special abilities are given some extra time to complete the exam.

Selection Criteria of NMMS Scholarship Exam

  • This exam is conducted to examine the reasoning abilities and critical thinking of students through 90 multiple-choice questions.
  • Most of the questions are based on the topics like the pattern perception, hidden figures, analogy, classification and numerical series etc.
2. Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
  • SAT include of 90 multiple-choice questions.
  • The syllabus of SAT include the subjects such as social studies, science and mathematics as per the syllabus of class 7 and class 8.

NMMS Scholarship Results Declaration

  • The state government declares the list of the students with at least 40% marks in each test as qualified candidates in MAT and SAT. The cutoff marks for them to avail the scholarship advantage of this MCM scholarship is 32%.
  • The applicants must have gained at least 55% marks in the final exam of class 8. There is a relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST category students.
  • The aspirants must fulfill all the eligibility terms in order to avail the advantages of NMMS.
